Agency history:

The All-Star Benefit Concert was held 21 January 1990 at Sarratt Cinema, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, to raise money for the Addison Bryan Trust Fund. The fund was established to help with medical expenses of Addison Bryan, son of blue grass fiddler John Bryan, who suffered from a brain tumor. The concert was organized by Bruce Nemerov and was sponsored by the Tennessee Folklore Society and Vanderbilt Concerts.
 

Scope and Content:

2 audio tapes, 103 black and white negatives and contact prints, 15 4x6 black and white prints, a poster and articles (copies) from the Nashville Tennessean and Banner documenting the All-Star Benefit Concert held 21 January 1990 at Vanderbilt University, Nashville Tennessee. John Hartford and his son Jamie; Norman and Nancy Blake; the Nashville Bluegrass Band; the Fairfield Four; and Riders in the Sky performed at the concert. James Bryan joined the Blakes on several numbers.
 

A log of the audio tapes including information on performers and the title/description of music prepared by Center audio archivist Bruce Nemerov follows.

The poster and clippings are filed by accession number with manuscripts. The audio tapes are filed by tape number with other archival audio visual materials. The photographs are filed under "All-Star Benefit Concert" in the subject photograph file.
