Play Lists were compiled by radio stations for distribution to music consumers, usually through record stores.
 

Scope and content:

This group consists of significant runs of weekly play lists from WABC, 1968-1976, and WWRL, 1972-1975, in New York city and slight scattered issues of play lists from other area stations. Also included are issues 4-45 (1974-1976) of Metropolitan New York, a publication which included play lists from 4-10 New York radio stations representing varied musical formats (e.g. adult contemporary, r & b), a composite play list for the city and radio advertising along with occasional special features (e.g. disco spins, hits of 10 years ago).

Twenty-nine issues of GO, a syndicated weekly pop magazine distributed free by radio stations which added information on their own play list were received with this collection and have been filed with serials. These issues were distributed by WMCA, (NY) except for two issues from WNOR and one from WGH.
